Notes from Our Chair Couple Even though the temperature was 107 degrees at our April potluck, fun was had by all. Records were set at this event in the form of the largest 50/50 collection to date and the largest amount of attendees this year. Thanks to one and all for making it an historic potluck. As our membership slowly grows and as does our attendance at all of our potlucks, we want to make the potlucks a venue for our new and current members to have plenty of time to meet and greet prior to partaking of our usual wonderful potluck dishes. In order to maximize that "social time" at our future potlucks, the chair couple will be limiting our announcements only to recognize guests, our anniversary couples and our birthday celebrants. All other announcements will need to be made via the CVC monthly newsletter or via em-mail broadcasts. Please contact Bob/Jim, our media couple, for making your announcements. Beginning with our May potluck, you will be asked to complete a food identification card at the registration table. The purpose of each food card is to identify ingredients in your food dish that might cause negative allergic reactions to any of our members. The food card will be "user friendly" and is formatted as a check list (i.e. place an "x" next to the shell fish category if your potluck casserole dish contains shell fish). If you bring a tossed salad, the ingredients are easily visible and a food identification card is not needed. The registration table workers will help you with this effort.
